Description

Air Fryer Caprese Garlic Bread is a fast summer appetizer made with garlicky ciabatta, melted mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, and a balsamic glaze. Ready in 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf ciabatta bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 12 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil, torn
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic and a pinch of salt.
  • Split the ciabatta horizontally and trim the pieces to fit your air fryer basket or rack.
  • Spread the garlic butter over the cut sides, edge to edge, then top with the shredded mozzarella.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 4 to 6 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly browned at the edges. Check at 4 minutes.
  • While the bread cooks, simmer the balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until reduced by half.
  • Layer the thin tomato slices over the melted cheese and season the tomatoes with salt and pepper.
  • Tear the basil over the top and drizzle with the balsamic glaze.
  • Slice with a serrated knife and serve immediately.

Equipment

  • Air fryer (basket or oven model)

Notes

Blot the tomato slices dry before layering them on. Store leftover cheesy bread separately from the fresh toppings and reheat at 350°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
