Description

oft chocolate donuts made with crushed Reese's Puffs cereal and finished with a vanilla glaze. Baked in the air fryer in about ten minutes — no oil, no deep frying.

Ingredients

Donuts

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Reese's Puffs cereal, finely crushed (from about 1 cup whole cereal)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup Reese's Puffs cereal, whole

Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 teaspoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For topping (optional)

  • 5 mini Reese's cups, chopped
  • Additional Reese's Puffs cereal
  • Chocolate sauce

Instructions

  • Spray a donut pan generously with nonstick spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, finely crushed cereal, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Create a well in the center and add the sugar, melted butter, egg, vanilla, and buttermilk.
  • Whisk the wet ingredients together in the center, then gradually incorporate the dry ingredients. The batter will be thick and slightly lumpy — do not overmix.
  • Fold in the whole cereal with a rubber spatula.
  • Pipe the batter into the donut cavities, filling each about three-quarters full.
  • Place the pan in the air fryer and cook at 320°F for 9–10 minutes, until the donuts spring back when lightly pressed. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • For the glaze, combine the confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until smooth.
  • Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze, return them to the wire rack, and top immediately with cereal, chopped Reese's cups, and chocolate drizzle.

Equipment

  • Piping Bag
  • 6-cavity donut pan or silicone donut molds
