Description

Tender, flaky wild-caught sockeye salmon cooked in the air fryer in about 10 minutes, finished with fresh lemon and dill. An easy, healthy, weeknight-fast dinner that's special enough for company.

Ingredients

  • 2 sockeye salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh dill, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush over both sides of the fillets.
  • Place the fillets skin-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 7–10 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  • Confirm an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) at the thickest part with a meat thermometer.
  • Let the salmon rest a few minutes. Garnish with fresh dill and serve with lemon wedges.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

  • Thaw frozen salmon in the fridge overnight before cooking for the best texture; if cooking from frozen, add a few minutes and verify 145°F.
  • Start checking at the 7-minute mark — thickness, not weight, drives the cook time.
  • Keep any marinade low in sugar to prevent burning in the air fryer.
  • Pairs beautifully with air fryer roasted asparagus or air fryer roasted mini potatoes.
