Description

A copycat Longhorn Steakhouse Sweet Potato made in the air fryer — tender, fluffy baked sweet potatoes topped with whipped cinnamon honey butter and cinnamon sugar, just like the restaurant favorite.

Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt, or kosher salt

Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional (Loaded Version)

  • ¼ cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Prep: Scrub and dry the sweet potatoes. Rub each all over with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, and poke several holes with a fork.
  • Air fry: Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F for 35–45 minutes, until fork-tender. Let rest 5 minutes.
  • Make the cinnamon honey butter: While the potatoes cook, whip the softened butter with powdered sugar, honey, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until light and creamy.
  • Make the cinnamon sugar: Stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Assemble: Slice each potato open lengthwise and fluff the flesh. Add a generous spoonful of cinnamon honey butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Serve warm.
  • Optional loaded version: After buttering, top with mini marshmallows and return to the air fryer at 350°F for 2–3 minutes, until puffed and golden. Finish with cinnamon sugar.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

  • Choose sweet potatoes of similar size so they cook evenly.
  • Store leftover potatoes (without butter) in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days; freeze wrapped in foil for up to 3 months.
  • Cinnamon honey butter can be made up to 1 week ahead and refrigerated; bring to room temperature before serving.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 5–7 minutes to restore the crisp skin.
